VALUE ADDED PROGRAMS @ PACT Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Teaching (PGDCT): PGDCT is offered to all the teacher trainees as an add on module along with the regular course curriculum. On completion of the regular course the students will have a degree/diploma and also a PGDCT which will have an added advantage when they go out seeking jobs. PGDCT is provided at no extra cost for all the students at PACT. This additional course will endow teacher trainees with creative teaching techniques and reflective practices, enabling them to function more effectively in their future endeavors. The program will acquaint the students with learner centered, innovative, humane teaching practices along with strategies to interpret textbooks creatively. It will hone their presentation and communication skills and also enhance their confidence levels. It will get them to reflect on the values and ethics inherent in teaching. Trainees will be given valuable inputs on visioning and developing a school. The soft skills component comprises some of the following modules: Presentation skills for teachers (with multimedia backup) communications skills for Teachers Simulated role plays and interpersonal skills Team building and group dynamics Theatre in Education. Modules that augment teaching skills include amongst others: Creative Teaching Techniques Creative Pursuits Multiple Intelligences Teaching and learning styles. English Language Improvement program (ELIP): ELIP is aimed at improving teacher trainee's English language skills. One of the important qualities of a good teacher is he or she should also be a good communicator. When language skills are lacking it becomes deterrent to a ambitious teacher. ELIP focuses on addressing this issue from the very beginning of the academic year. Placement Assistance: The PACT will assist students who successfully completed the degree/diploma in getting placement in schools in India and abroad.
